Casting: Strike Back gets a dose of Spartacus, Wolverine and Crouching Tiger

Strike Back is back in production with a 2015 premiere date. Cinemax has just announced a few casting additions that should bolster the adrenaline rush for the series’ fourth and final season. Production is adding a rich line-up of action heroes from comic-adapted films, action series, martial arts flicks and – of course – Game of Thrones.

We’ve got Michelle Yeoh (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon II), Will Yun Lee (The Wolverine, True Blood) and Adrian Paul (Highlander TV series) representing for the martial arts fans. Dustin Clare, aka Gannicus from Sprtacus, also joins the roster, alongside Christian Antidormi (Spartacus: War of the Damned) and Joseph Gatt (Game of Thrones). If that wasn’t enough action for you, Strike Back takes a note from The Expendables and has added a real MMA fighter to the mix. Get ready to see British champ and UFC fighter Michael Bisping join the foray.

Needless to say, with all these action stars joining the cast, the final season of Strike Back will be packed with action from start to finish.

Here’s a taste of production:

New Look at Strike Back’s Final Season

Strike Back may be delayed until 2015, but Cinemax is giving fans a little tease on the upcoming season. In this behind-the-scenes look at the final season of Strike Back, we see Stonebridge (Philip Winchester) and Scott (Sullivan Stapleton) take on Thailand. Needless to say, there’s lots of bullets and bodies in this video as well as some of that patented Strike Back humor we’ve come to love over the past few seasons.

Although this August will be Strike Back-less, we’ll be rewatching the past few seasons to wet our palette for 2015.

EXCLUSIVE Clip: ‘Strike Back Origins’ Finale

The Strike Back Origins finale airs tonight on Cinemax. In this clip, Hugh Collinson (Andrew Lincoln) goes toe-to-toe with the Pentagon tough guy Frank Arlington (Toby Stephens).

Guest stars on tonight’s Strike Back Origins finale include Alexander Siddiq (Star Trek: DS9, DaVinci’s Demons) and Toby Stephens (Die Another Day, Robin Hood).
Strike Back Origins airs Friday at 10PM on Cinemax.

‘Strike Back’ Season 4 Will be Final Season for Series

Calling all Section 20 fans. Cinemax has just revealed that Strike Back will be renewed for a fourth season on the premium cable network. Season 4 will also be the final season of Strike Back.

Although Cinemax hasn’t announced which cast members will return yet, based on the season 3 finale we can presume that Philip Winchester, Sullivan Stapleton, Michelle Lukes and Robson Green will all be returning for Strike Back‘s final hurrah.

Of course, since characters tend to die often on the Cinemax show, the real question is… Who will survive the Strike Back series finale? I’m guessing either Scott or Stonebridge will make the “big” sacrifice to close out the show. After last season’s close-out regarding Scott’s son, perhaps Stonebridge will lay down his life so that Scott can retire and be the dad he was meant to be. It would be an interesting reversal since Stonebridge was the “family man” when we first met him, despite marital indiscretions.

And for the Scott fans, we’re all wondering if Julia Richmond and Scott will become a thing.

Michael J. Bassett will return as co-executive producer, writer and director. The final, 10-episode season will debut in 2014 and is set to film in Asia and Europe.

EXCLUSIVE: ‘Strike Back’ Season 3 Finale Clip: Time to Do ‘Whatever it Takes’

The season 3 finale of Strike Back is here. And once again, betrayal is the order of the day. Here’s an EXCLUSIVE look at episode 3.10.

Without giving anything away, I’ll just say that Locke and Scott are pretty pissed off. Matter of fact, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Scott so strapped for words.

You can catch Strike Back on Friday night at 10PM on Cinemax.

Photos below feature Philip Winchester, Sullivan Stapleton, Amy-Leigh Hickman, Robson Green and Michelle Lukes.

Strike Back Season 3 Episode 9: Locke gets Cerebral-Scary in an Interrogation

We’re in the penultimate episode of this season of Strike Back. And this just happens to be the episode that we’ve been waiting for since Comic Con. No great action movie (or TV series as the case may be) is complete without a fight on-top of a moving train. This episode has just that. You can check out the gallery bellow to see Stonebridge and Scott getting their Strike Back on, atop a train.

The cool thing about this sequence is that Philip Winchester and Sullivan Stapleton did their own stunts. So when you see one hanging off a train and the other riding a bike in front of it, that’s not green screen or stunt doubles.

Here’s a clip from Episode 29. When we first met Locke, he “appeared” to just another pencil pusher up the ladder of Section 20. Now, he’s showing just how dark he can be, with a little cerebral interrogation.

Photos feature Sullivan Stapleton, Philip Winchester, Ivan Fenyo, Amy-Leigh Hickman, Philip Arditti, Michelle Lukes and Milauna Jackson.

‘Strike Back’ Season 3 Episode 8: Flirty Jokes in a Jail Cell (Clip)

“Sergeant Damian Scott, do you have a death wish?”

Strike Back Season 3

If there are two styles of comedic scenes I like on Strike Back, it’s: (1) when Stonebridge and Scott are trapped behind but find time to riff about topics and (2) when Scott is flirting with a new girl.

This new clip from Strike Back Season 3 Episode 8 is something of a combination of those two styles. We have Scott and Piragova trapped in a jail cell. The two begin to argue, but Scott can’t help but add in his patented come-on lines – even when he’s the butt of the joke.

Also, if any of the Section 20 fans out there haven’t heard the news, Philip Winchester was just cast in a Joe Mazzello (The Pacific, The Social Network) indie flick, entitled Undrafted. It will be the directorial debut for Mazzello. The film will also feature Matt Barr (Hatfields and McCoys), James Belushi (According to Jim), Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl), Billy Gardell (Mike & Molly), Tyler Hoechlin (Teen Wolf), Manny Montana (Graceland) amd Aaron Tveit (Les Miserables).

Photos below feature Sullivan Stapleton, Milauna Jackson, Michelle Lukes, Winchester, Carolin Stoltz, Togo Igawa, Robson Green, Tereza Srbova and Zubin Varla.

Strike Back Season 3 Episode 7: Stonebridge and Scott behind Bars

“What the f*^k are we doing here, anyway?” – Scott

There comes a time in every action hero’s life, where he finds himself behind bars. Such is the case on this week’s Strike Back.

There are only four episodes of Strike Back left, including this Friday’s episode. So, I ask you? What’s up with a season renewal? Get your friends tuning in folks if you want more international action. After all, Winchester did tell us that he was looking forward to a mission in Thailand next year. So, let’s see it.

Here’s a clip from this week’s episode. Stonebridge (Philip Winchester) and Scott (Sullivan Stapleton) also “do the thing” they do when they decide who is going to take the shittier task – play paper, rock, scissors.

The photos below feature Zubin Varla, Robson Green, Stapleton, Winchester, Peter Guiness and Tereza Srbova.

Strike Back airs Friday nights at 10PM E/P on Cinemax.

Strike Back 3.6 Clip: Section 20 under the Gun

Strike Back Season 3 Episode 6

We’ve crossed the halfway point in Strike Back season three… and you know what I’m still waiting for, right?

With the Emmy Awards right around the corner, I’m anxious to hear a green light on Strike Back Season 4 – especially with Strike Back Origins on deck for October.

For now, we’ve got a new clip from episode 26. This takes place back at Section 20, where Stonebridge and Scott are discussing their plans following Locke’s capture. Stonebridge’s health is still an issue as the team decides what to do about preempting Al-Zuhari’s next steps.

Photos below feature: Catherine Walker, Michelle Lukes, Sullivan Stapleton and Philip Winchester.

Exclusive ‘Strike Back’ Clip: Locke gets his Big ‘Enemy’ Speech on

Strike Back Season 3 Episode 5

So let me ask the question that’s on everyone’s mind. When’s the season renewal coming for Strike Back? We’re touching the halfway point in the season and I’m anxiously awaiting the letter from Cinemax that will announce Strike Back Season 4. Hopefully, this month’s earlier announcement of Strike Back Origins means that Cinemax is fully invested in the season.

Now, enough of my big dreams of more Scott and Stonebridge. We’ve got an exclusive clip from Season 3 Episode 5. It’s a meeting at Section 20, with Locke running the debrief. We’ve got some old villains and new teaming up to cause trouble for 20.

“What we’re looking at here has been every operatives worst nightmare for the past decade.” -Locke.

Strike Back airs Fridays at 10pm on Cinemax. And if you haven’t done so yet, tweet to @Cinemax and let them you want more Stonebridge and Scott.
