Drea de Matteo will be a Series Regular for Sons of Anarchy’s seventh season – What Does this Mean?
In case you didn’t know, Kurt Sutter’s magnum opus, Sons of Anarchy, is coming to an end next season with its seventh installment. That means the bullets will be flying and the bodies will be dropping…not that they haven’t been already.
Of course [spoiler alert], the sixth season ended with some serious carnage of its own, most notably with the brutal death of Tara at the hands of Gemma. Before her body is even cold, Sutter’s next move is sure to piss off Tara sympathizers: Drea de Matteo is being promoted to series regular.
I have nothing against Drea (she’s a fantastic actress – “Chistopher!”), but of course, this means that we’re going to see more and more of junkie-supreme Wendy. In the world of conventional television, Wendy would’ve been offed a long time ago and Tara would’ve rode into the sunset with Abel and Thomas in tow.
But in the Sutter world, Tara gets the ‘dish-washer’ treatment and Wendy is somehow still standing.
What will this mean for Season 7? Will Jax *gasp* end up with Wendy? Will she be relegated to babysitter status (someone has to take care of the kids while the club’s at war)? Has she been brought back just to be driven to the woods and shot twice in the back?
