Okay. So we all knew it was coming at the end of The Vampire Diaries’ third season.
With Elena turning into a vampire and her teen emotions raging, Stelena would be on the way out and Delena would most certainly be on the way in.
However, TVD Season 4 gave us a brief chance to suspect that showrunner Julie Plec might not shift right back into the Delena way of life.
Then, Elena drank Damon’s blood. If you don’t know yet, one vampire drinking another vampire’s blood creates a special bond. It’s like sex – without the… you know… sex.
Elena tried to sidestep her inner Delena fantasies. First, by trying to live life the Stefan way, feasting on animal blood. It didn’t work so she turned Matt (consensually) into a “human blood bag.”
“Elena’s transition into a vampire has been a little depressing. I’m going to help her have some fun.” – Stefan
“Well, those who can’t teach.” – Damon
Try as she might to hold back, Elena’s ready to enjoy life as a vampire – something Stefan has been unable to do without unleashing the Ripper. Elena did her first keg stand in perfect form at Rebekah’s curfew breaking party.
Now, Damon has promised to help ease Elena’s transition into a vampire. As if he doesn’t have an ulterior motive. Alas, Elena can be naive at times especially when it comes to Damon. So, inevitably, Delena will happen – most likely during November sweeps.
Other Key Points:
Connor didn’t die! According the Klaus, Connor has now become “the most well protected vampire hunter in town.” Klaus revealed that Connor is one of The Five. We’ll learn more about this special group in an upcoming flashback episode, coincidentally titled, “The Five.”
There’s a “great” evil coming to Mystic Falls – one that is apparently more evil than Klaus. However, Klaus has a new end-game thanks to the introduction of “The Five.” He felt the need to save Elena’s life although he can no longer use her blood to make hybrids now that she’s a vampire. Perhaps The Five can fix this Klaus’ hybrid dilemma?
