On November 11, Science Channel will air Firefly: Browncoats Unite, a 60-minute special that reunites Joss Whedon, Nathan Fillion and the crew of the Serenity (Sean Maher, Summer Glau, Adam Baldwin, Morena Baccarin, Alan Tudyk, Gina Torres and Jewel Staite).

Sorry Morena Baccarin fans, everyone’s favorite consort is busy with Homeland.

Creator/Director Whedon has had a busy year in 2012. After delivering a hit with The Avengers, he took over San Diego Comic Con with the tenth anniversary of Firefly celebration. Then, he got the green light for Avengers 2 and a S.H.I.E.L.D. TV spin-off on ABC.

Science Channel will air a marathon of the entire 14-episode season on Nov 11, starting at 7AM. The Firefly: Browncoats Unite special will air at 10PM.

Kudos to the Science Channel for picking up the ball on great science fiction story telling, especially now that Syfy has dropped the ball on the genre it used to embrace.
