What makes a hero a hero? The Avengers, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, survived Loki. Now Iron Man is back, alone and struggling with new demons.
Iron Man 3 hits theaters in 2013. While the second Iron Man movie debatably sucked, The Avengers washed away the bad sequel’s bad taste. The movie was a home run for Marvel Comics. Now everyone is wondering if Iron Man 3 repeat the success of the team-up movie.
Points against it… No Joss Whedon at the helm. Instead, Shane Black – whose last (and only) director spot to date was in 2005 with Kiss Kiss Bang Bang – takes over the reigns of the metal hero (as writer and director). Black was on the creative side of all of the Lethal Weapon movies so he’ll have no problem grasping Tony Stark’s (or rather Robert Downey Jr.’s ) whit.
The new trailer sets the mood for a darker Iron Man film. As far as hero movies go, it will be going up against Man of Steel, the new Superman movie from DC Comics.
