Medal of Honor: Warfighter (Xbox 360, PS3)
Sure, you’ve played a billion shooters. But, Warfighter‘s multiplayer is just too good to pass up. We had the time of our lives playing this one at E3. The best part was the ability to respawn next to your teammate. It may not sound like a major modification to gameplay, but the slight nuance makes tactical decisions in combat that much more strategic and deliberate.
The Unfinished Swan (PS3)
The Unfinished Swan may sound like a black and white version of de Blob, but sometimes taking a breather from the norm is just what the doctor ordered. This is an action-painting game with a fantastical plot and a new IP from Giant Sparrow.
Skylanders Giants (Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox 360, 3DS)
Who doesn’t love collecting those fun little Skylanders toys? Now, they’re giant sized. Expect this to be a holiday must-buy for children. However, this is one puzzle adventure game that parents can have just as much fun playing.
Honorable Re-releases:
Street Fighter X Tekken (PS Vita)
One of the best fighting games of the year (the market’s slim in 2012) now comes to Sony’s handheld system. If you love fighting games and own a Vita, this is a no brainer.
Killzone Trilogy (PS3)
I know a lot of Sony exclusive fans out there prefer Resistance, but I’m a Killzone fan. If Sony’s releasing a trilogy, perhaps they have something in the works for the franchise on next-gen. Yes, please!
