Homeland & Dexter Lay the Double Smackdown on Ratings

Dexter and Homeland, Showtime’s award winning series, kick started the premium network’s Fall season with ratings highs for both series.

The Dexter Season 7 premiere gave the network its highest rated premiere to-date, taking in 2.4 million viewers during the first 9PM airing and 3.04 million viewers for the night.

The Homeland Season 2 premiere, which debuted after Dexter, got an additional ratings jolt thanks to its Emmy award wins in September.

Homeland debuted with 1.73 million viewers during the initial 10PM airing and 2.07 million viewers for the night. This was the largest Season 2 premiere of a series for the network. Shameless, starring William H. Macy, previously held the crown.

Dexter stars Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter. Homeland stars Claire Danes and Damian Lewis. You can catch both shows Sunday nights on Showtime.
