Jersey Shore Season 6 Cast

No more GTL? No more fist-pumping? What will the world do without Jersey Shore? We’ll find out very soon.

MTV has pulled the plug on the ratings smash, after recently wrapping production on the sixth season. While even the most ardent fan will agree that the show ran its course a long time ago, many were still tuning in to catch the cast’s latest escapades. For MTV, the series was its centerpiece: Shore put up record ratings numbers for the network, numbers that even broadcast shows would be envious of.

With its most famous star Snooki just giving birth to her first son, the thought of parenthood mixing with the show’s normal cycle of debauchery would be a hard sell. Besides, there’s little left in the tank creatively; the six seasons included 4 excursions to Seaside Heights, NJ, a trip down to South Beach, Florida as well as an overseas trip to Italy. Aside from parking a beach house on the moon, what else could the show blow our minds with?

Despite being a love-it-or-hate-it guilty pleasure, the show has made its young stars both famous and rich. They’ve been in just about everything for the past 3 years since the show’s debut, secured numerous endorsements and made a killing off of appearance fees. It’s safe to say that a few of them are here to stay for the near future. The Snooki & JWoww show has been renewed for a second season while the verdict on another go-round of The Pauly D Project has yet to be made.

What’s your thoughts on the cancellation: totally bummed or sigh of relief?
