“Kurt Sutter has really got together some of the most amazing character actors in the business,” says Kim Coates, who stars as Tig on FX’s Sons of Anarchy.
Recently, we spoke with Coates regarding the upcoming season as well some of the standout Tig moments from season’s past.
“He just keeps fucking up, doesn’t he?” Coates stated. “He shoots first.”
Season 4 ended with the death of Laroy’s girlfriend, Damon Pope’s daughter. We’ll see the fallout from Tig’s actions (there are some significant consequences) in the Sons of Anarchy Season 5 premiere.

Given Tig’s past choices, one could presume that Tig will be holding back this year, especially now that he’s no longer the Sgt at Arms and Jax (Charlie Hunnam) sits at the head of the table.
Coates says different. “Tig is completely off the leash this year.”
This could mean an even darker Tig than the one we’ve come to know over the past four years.
Now, the only question is, where will his allegiance sit with Clay sidelined?

With SOA going on through at least a sixth season and potentially a seventh final season, we asked Coates, where he wanted to see the series end up for Tig.
Coates stated, “I’m not sure it’s going to end pretty for Tig.” The actor mentions the Hamlet mythology and predicts dark times ahead this season and even darker times going into the Sons of Anarchy series finale.
