After years of waiting for a wireless solution, Astro has answered the call of gamers.
Today, the Astro A50 Wireless Headset is on its way to gamers. The 5.8GHz wireless headset totes Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound and MixAmp 5.8 technology. It may not have the detachable ear plates of the A40, but gamers should delight in the ability to finally be wireless.
We’ve got the review on the way, but we thought we’d give you a taste of what you can expect when you first open the box.
The A50 comes packaged inside a cardboard slipcase. The inside box, opens up to reveal the headset and mixamp.
Here’s a closeup, which shows off the volume adjustment on the right earphone as well as the 3 EQ Modes (Media Mode, Core Mode, and Pro Mode).
Although the ear plates are gone, Astro kept the box funky. The packaging has some cool artwork, which feels like a cool mix of street graffiti, Astro artwork and sound waves to get you pumped for some wireless gaming.
Beneath the plastic shell that kept the headset secure, you’ll find the headset stand along with a few additional cables (two USB cables and a 1/8-to-1/8 jack).
Check back later this week for our full review of the Astro A50 Wireless Headset.
