The legal spat between entertainment provider DISH and AMC has gotten quite ugly and public. If you’ve seen the TV spots during The Walking Dead Season 3 Preview marathon a week ago or for Breaking Bad, you’ve seen AMC calling out DISH for dropping them and the timing of all of this couldn’t be worse for those who want to see the thrilling return of Walter White and company. AMC is stepping up to offer a live stream of the Season 5 premiere to DISH customers on amctv.com.
DISH subscribers can register at: http://www.amctv.com/breakingbad4dish/
It’s a nice gesture by AMC to keep DISH subscribers from missing out on all of the fun, but don’t think of this as a peace pipe between the cable network and the DISH. AMC released this statement: “Every cable, phone and satellite company other than DISH carries AMC and its popular programming. AMC wants its loyal DISH viewers to experience the excitement of the “Breaking Bad” premiere at the same time as their friends and neighbors, and we want to give DISH customers an extra week to switch providers so they can enjoy the rest of the season.”
So in other words, don’t expect to see the entire season of Breaking Bad on live stream, DISH subscribers. Think of this as a free sample of the best drug on TV–like Walter and Jesse’s crystal blue.
