Deathstroke was used sparsely in the CW’s Smallville series. He was played by famed Battlestar Galactica actor Michael Hogan. The DC villain also was a key character in the first Teen Titans animated series, which featured Slade as Robin’s arch enemy.

Will Deathstroke be as poignant a villain for Arrow as Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum) was for Clark Kent (Tom Welling) on Smallville? Only time will tell. Rosenbaum dominated his role on Smallville so much that the series was filled with a giant void when he left. Thankfully, the actor came back for the finale as a gift to long-time fans.
