When Covert Affairs debuts its third season tomorrow night, there will be a new character in town. Annie Walker (Piper Perabo) will have a new mentor, played by small screen veteran Sarah Clarke. Clarke will play Lena, a legendary CIA operative running her own division.
Lena, by the looks of this video (courtesy of TVGuide), is a straight-shooter who has no problem with saying what’s on her mind. She believes that Annie was being under-utilized under the wing of Joan (Kari Matchett) and that she can do more. Color me interested. Her blunt nature reminds me a bit of her character Nina Myers on 24, perhaps one of the most sinister TV villains of all time.
Clarke joins Affairs after a small arc on CW’s Nikita. Let me be the first to ask – is it possible for her to recruit her husband, Xander Berkeley over to Covert Affairs as well? Besides both now being alums of Nikita, they also can jointly brag about their work on 24 as well.
Check out the video below and be sure to tune in to the Covert Affairs Season 3 premiere on Tuesday, July 10 at 10/9C.
