Often shows scale down during their final season, cutting back on production costs to balance out the cost of the rising contracts.
In Spartacus: War of the Damned, the series’ final season, fans can look forward to bigger, bolder fight scenes. The scale has been increased to accommodate the ranks of Spartacus’ (Liam McIntyre) rebelling slaves, which now totals more than 30,000 after the victory at the Battle of Vesuvius and demise of Gaius Claudius Glaber.
In this behind-the-scenes look at the final season, McIntyre takes us through some of the first production shots of the series. There aren’t too many spoilers, just a lot of action. You’ll also get a taste of some of the new characters showing up, including Julius Caesar (Todd Lasance).
The video below features some of Spartacus’ most trusted comrades, such as: Crixus (Manu Bennett), Lugo (Barry Duffield) and Gannicus (Dustin Clare). You’ll also see Kore (Jenna Lind), Donar (Heath Jones), Laeta (Anna Hutchison) and Crassus (Simon Merrells).
Showrunner Steven S. DeKnight always loves to give his fans several epic deaths. I just hope Gannicus and Crixus go out in the blaze of glory they deserve.
