Lies hied in darkness and truth brings light.
That’s the message of the first Dexter Season 7 teaser to hit the Internet.
It’s finally time for Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) to learn the truth about Dexter (Michael C. Hall). Many have speculated as to what would happen when Deb finally learns the truth about her brother. At the end of Dexter Season 6, she came face to face with that truth. But then we cut to black before any confrontation was had.

Some have suggested that she would walk away and ignore the truth or that Dexter would come up with a lie. However, this teaser suggests something very different.
“Everything in my life has brought me to this point.” – Dexter
Right away, we learn that the Dexter Season 7 premiere will in fact start off with the biggest moment in Dexter’s life. While Rita’s death was huge, this is truly the biggest crossroads in Dexter’s life. It’s a major plot change that could take the series to new heights if done correctly and potentially bring back some of the fans the Season 5 Lumen years.
“It’s all I am, I can accept that.” – Dexter
This line in Dexter’s inner narration, further lets us know that Season 7 will be about Deb accepting Dexter for who he really is. So don’t expect Deb to make that decision right away, Dexter has accepted who he is and this season will focus on him helping Deb to come to grips with that.
“Step away from the body.” – Deb
“Deb, it’s me.” – Dexter
“Jesus Dexter.” Deb
These will be the first words we’ll hear in the Season 7 premiere. Deb’s reaction sounds authentic. It feels as though she’s suspected the truth about Dexter for some time now, but has always kept herself blind to it. By hearing the “Jesus Dexter” words uttered by Deb, you can almost sense the rush of thoughts crashing through Deb’s mind. She’s thinking about Lundy, the Bay Harbor Butcher, Doakes, Rita and Luman’s guardian angel all at once.
Dexter won’t be able to lie to get out of this one.
What are your theories?
Dexter Season 7 premieres on Sunday, September 30 at 9pm on Showtime. This is one season that you’ll want to tune into.
