Twentieth Century Fox followed Warner Bros by announcing their Comic-Con lineup Friday and there are some good shows descending on San Diego and some notable omissions. Glee fans will be surprised that the comedy/drama won’t show up. I’m also surprised that Kiefer Sutherland’s Touch won’t be making the trip. On the positive side, Sons of Anarchy is coming fully stacked this year, with more fan favorites than ever before. Before we get to that, let’s check out the schedule.
Friday, July 13
Bones (Fox) – What better day than Friday the 13th to check out the latest with the Bones cast and crew? Stars David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel will be present along with producers Hart Hanson and Stephen Nathan.
Bob’s Burgers (Fox) – ARCHER! Sorry, I couldn’t resist. Actor H. Jon Benjamin, who impeccably voices FX’s title character from Archer, will be on hand to promote his other awesome voice role in Bob’s Burgers. Also joining him will be John Roberts, Dan Mintz, Eugene Mirman and Kristen Schaal.
Brinkleberry (Comedy Central) – A new comedy series for the Fall season, this panel will feature Daniel Tosh and It’s Always Sunny’s Kaitlin Olson.
Saturday, July 14
Futurama (Comedy Central) – Billy West, Katey Sagal, John DiMaggio and Maurice LaMarche will be in the building, talking about the latest zany adventures of the once-dead-now-revived show.
The Simpsons (Fox) – What’s new with The Simpsons? We’ll find out at the Con when they tease an upcoming episode, “Treehouse of Horror.”
Family Guy (Fox) – This panel will feature series creator Seth MacFarlane and a sneak peek at the upcoming season.
American Dad (Fox) – Seth MacFarlane will be back joined by voice actors Wendy Schaal, Scott Grimes, Rachael MacFarlane, Dee Bradley Walker, Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman.
Sunday, July 15
Sons of Anarchy (FX) – FX’s increasingly popular biker drama is going to up the ante at this year’s con, its third straight. For the first time, they’ll bring more than three members of the SAMCRO gang; showrunner Kurt Sutter will be joined by Charlie Hunnam (Jax Teller), Katey Sagal (Gemma Teller), Ron Perlman (Clay Morrow), Maggie Siff (Tara Knowles), Kim Coates (Tig), Mark Boone Junior (Bobby), Tommy Flanagan (Chibs), Theo Rossi (Juice), Ryan Hurst (Opie) and Dayton Callie (Chief Wayne Unser).
Sutter used last year’s convention to kick start the promotion of the fourth season in explosive fashion by showing off an action-packed trailer unveiling some of the upcoming developments. With the power shift from Clay to Jax that happened in the fourth season’s last episode, we can only hope we’ll see the same this year.
The Cleveland Show (Fox) – Also joining the fun will be MacFarlane’s other animation series, The Cleveland Show, where he’ll tease about the upcoming fourth season.
