After approximately 460,000 fan votes, we have a champion! Fresh off an exciting Season 2 premiere, Game of Thrones emerged victorious in the second annual BuzzFocus.com Spring Madness TV Tourney.

Fans of the show gathered to definitively beat White Collar fans, who made an extraordinary effort to get their show to the finals.

Editor’s Pick: Game of Thrones Season 2 Premiere Review

For Thrones, Round 1 resulted in an easy win over Spartacus: Vengeance. However, Round 2 proved to be the closest matchup of the competition. The HBO juggernaut managed to slip by Community by only 80 votes! From there, it was smooth sailing: GOT bested Homeland 81-19 and then gave The Walking Dead the same treatment (65-35).

It’s worth noting that White Collar fans proved to be extremely resilient in their loss. Serious props are in order for the ‘Collars’ that mounted social media campaigns to drum up support. This tourney is done in the spirit of fun, so anytime you get passionate fans coming out to support their show, it’s a win for everyone.

Thank you all for voting in the tournament and make sure to stop back for more exciting fan-driven competitions in the near future!

with all the hype surrounding GOT plus books and a subject matter that would feed this type of fan frenzy, the results here are quite a testimony to White Collar which takes a rather ordinary plot, infuses superior talent and comes up with an incredibly popular show among fans.

I had much fun keeping an eye on the votes Sunday and Monday (oh, and not to forget – trying to gather as many votes as possible). When I put my vote on White Collar Sunday early afternoon Danish time (aprox. 6 am PST) White Collar had only 6% of the votes. It went up slowly during Sunday, and then finally made it all the way to 32% before the votings closed. It felt like coming from miles behind and at least make it a bit exciting halfway to the finish line though knowing “we’d” never make it anyway near GoT :-D

Well… I guess that since White Collar isn’t airing right now this tournament was a nice “distraction” to get our Collar-minds away from the thoughts of Neal having cut his anklet and is now on the run ;-) Thanks a lot for all the fun!
