For shooter fans, 2011 belonged to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3. This year, all eyes are on Halo 4. However, there is another shooter game that should delight fans of all ages.

After Activision wowed fans with Transformers: War for Cybertron, aka the best Transformers game ever made, gamers have been looking forward to a sequel. And, it’s coming this summer.

The latest Transformers: Fall of Cybetron trailer feels almost like a prequel to the G1 cartoon series and subsequent 1986 animated movie. The Decepticons are gearing up take over Cybertron, and possibly those two elusive moon bases that the Autobots held onto in the G1 movie. There’s even a scene showing the Autobots in their ship, racing away from Cybertron. I can almost hear N.R.G. singing “Instruments of Destruction” as the Decepticons blasted their way into the Autobot ship, with Megatron screaming “Die Autobots!”

Plus the trailer gives us Bruticus, one of the bastions of Transformers G1 Season 2. Could you ask for more?

Check out the cinematic trailer now:

ahh, damn. Bruticus? quite possibly the best G1 combiner, though I’ll accept arguments for Devastator.
