Ok, we already know when Homeland and Dexter are returning this Fall, but what about Showtime’s summer comedies?
Showtime has announced that Weeds is set to mark its Season 8 debut on Sunday, July 1 at 10/9c. That will be the first of thirteen episodes comprising what is rumored to be the show’s final season.
The Botwins from Weeds will be followed immediately by Matt LeBlanc’s Episodes, ready to embark on a 9 episode second season (that’s up two episodes in count from the show’s hilarious first season).
Both shows will presumably pick up right where they left off in their last seasons. For the Botwins, we’ll find if one of them fell victim to the bullet of an unseen gunman.
For Episodes, the shenanigans will start four months after the conclusion of Season 1. Sean and Beverly, who had been on the outs after Bev’s short-lived affair with Matt, will no longer be living together. Expect big laughs to come when Beverly attempts to save the marriage, while Matt attempts to save his bromance with Sean. All of this will be going on as their television series collaboration “Pucks!” starts plummeting in the ratings.
