The next Kingdom Hearts game is getting a Tron: Legacy boost from straight from Flynn’s Arcade. Square-Enix has announced that the new level in Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] for the 3DS will feature The Grid, based on the 2010 film, Tron: Legacy.

The game focuses on the exploits of Riku and Sora. However, when they head into The Grid, the action is all Tron. They even get to ride on those cool Tron motorcycles. Although I can’t say I was a fan of the Tron sequel, I have to say that the 3D visuals were spectacular and should work really well on the 3DS.

Games like Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater and Resident Evil: Revelations have showed off just how stellar the 3DS visuals can be when a developer makes use of the 3D tech. But no 3DS game compares to Super Mario Land 3D when it comes to actually making use of existing in a 3D environment. The Grid seems like an excellent world to make use of 3D puzzles and if the developers take advantage of the depth perspective. Then, it would really be a Hearts game to remember.

Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] hits the 3DS later in 2012.
