2012’s first major blockbuster, The Hunger Games, may still be a few weeks away, but there are still a handful of new films to check out at the theater for the weekend of March 2.
Being Flynn, from Little Fockers and American Pie Director Paul Weitz, gets released by Focus Features. The movie stars Paul Dano, Robert De Niro and Julianne Moore. If you’re looking for a little comedy/drama, then this will be your best bet.
CG and Animated film lovers, or their children, can check out Dr. Seuss’ the Lorax, which gets released from Universal Pictures. The film features the voices of Betty White, Danny DeVito, Ed Helms, Rob Riggle, Taylor Swift, and Zac Efron. The Lorax is from the creators of Despicable Me.
The latest teen-angst-party movie, Project X comes to theaters from Warner Bros. The film stars Alexis Knapp, Dax Flame, Jonathan Daniel Brown, Kirby Bliss Blanton, Oliver Cooper, and Thomas Mann. Don’t expect this one to be the next Superbad.
Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie hits select theaters from Magnet Releasing. You have to be a fan of their style of comedy to enjoy it, otherwise you probably want to see something else.
The real gem of the week looks to be Let the Bullets Fly with Yun-Fat Chow, Wen Jiang and You Ge. It’s a period piece action-western set in China. It’s got your typical flair and outlandish story you’d expect from a Western from the East. There’s loads of bullets and swords. Need I saw more? In this film: a bandit arrives in a remote town and poses as its new mayor, where he faces off against a tyrannical local nobleman.
