The CW has just released a new clip from Next Week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries, “Bringing Out The Dead”.
In the clip below, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is lecturing Stefan (Paul Wesley) on why the two Salvatores need to attend a meeting with Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies).
In the last episode of TVD, “The Ties that Bind”, Damon removed the dagger from Elijah’s body. In Damon’s mind, it was a strategic move. After all Klaus didn’t want the dagger removed. So anything Klaus is against should be good for Mystic Falls, right?
I’m glad to see Elijah back and I am anxious for a full on Originals reunion with Rebekah (Claire Holt). However, it remains to be seen whether Damon made a good decision by removing the dagger. Although there is bitterness between the Original brothers, Elijah and Klaus are still family. At the end of the day, I’ve got to think that Elijah will always choose his brother over the Salvatores – just like Stefan chose to save his brother when the two had the chance to kill Klaus.

Mikael (Sebastian Roché) was the only true Original hunter, and he’s gone up in flames. Does Elijah really have the heart to be an Original hunter and live off the blood of vampires the way his dad did? I doubt it.
