It was bound to happen. After Castiel (Misha Collins) exploded in a fit of liquid Leviathan, most Supernatural fans wondered if Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Bobby (Jim Beaver) would be forced to save the world by themselves. [Possible Spoilers]
Then, the unthinkable happened.
Bobby died.
Well, at least it appeared that Bobby died at the end of the Supernatural Season 7 mid-season finale. The episode ended shortly after Bobby flat lined in the “waking world” and his spirit was left to deal with the Reaper before crossing to the other side.
If you are like me, then you probably wondered what would Supernatural be without its two best supporting actors – Bobby and Castiel?
Fortunately, it looks like Castiel is coming back. Or, at least some form of Castiel.
In a recent interview with AOL TV, Collins confirmed that he would return to Supernatural. Although he did not give away any tangible details, he said that his character is “changed”.
Collins, always up for a good laugh while brandishing the troll monicker, joked over Twitter: “Its true. I’m going to be back on the reality show about the two brothers who drive around testing out seedy motels.”
Right now, it looks like Castiel will return in episode 7.17 as well as at least two more episodes. Perhaps he will return just in time to figure out the whole Leviathan issue and save the day. Perhaps not.
