Now that Burn Notice and Covert Affairs are close to wrapping for 2011, what should we expect next from USA’s impressive roster of original series? Well, the action kicks back into gear in January as the network debuts new comedy-drama Common Law and brings back staples White Collar and Royal Pains.

Common Law, set in Los Angeles, but filming in New Orleans, stars Michael Ealy (Takers, Barbershop) and Warren Kole as two homicide detectives that are ordered to go to couple’s theraphy because they can’t stand each other. Ealy’s character Travis Marks is described as a “maverick ladies’ man” while Kole is a “methodical former lawyer.” This buddy-cop bromance is right up USA’s alley as a majority of their shows follow the same two-star setup. Common Law will premiere on January 26, 2012.
I’m personally waiting for the return on White Collar, which will next hit the cable wires on Tuesday, January 17, 2012. When we last left this cops and robbers caper, Peter Burke’s wife Elizabeth had been kidnapped by the nefarious villain Matthew Keller. Of course, this would’ve never happend if Neal Caffrey hadn’t stolen a priceless treasure that Keller wants. We can only imagine how the dynamic between Neal and Peter will change as a result of the kidnapping.
As for Royal Pains, you can expect that back the next day on Wednesday, January 18, 2012.
