What a perfect title for this week’s episode of Revenge, “Suspicion.” There was plenty to go around last night, especially with Lydia unsure of who to trust at this point in her recovery. Lydia now remembers what Victoria said to her at the benefit. Cat’s out of the bag there which is pleasing. And she’s in good hands with Conrad.. or is she? And as far as Victoria knows, her secrets are safe from Emily Thorne. Still, there’s suspicion all around, never ending. Threats aren’t created out of thin air. Everyone has played a part in getting themselves into the positions they are currently in… how they dig themselves out is what keeps us coming back for more!
As for the kids… Amanda is creating trouble getting cozy with Jack but Emily brought that on herself the moment she switched identities with her. Once that happened, Emily and Amanda were connected forever. It’s exhilarating watching Emily have no control over a person or be able to predict their next moves. After so many take downs, it is about time we find someone with a stronghold over Emily for a change. As Amanda said, “If Emily wants me gone, she might want to consider the ripple effect.”
Then there’s Nolan who has Tyler wrapped around his finger. It’s laughable how clever Tyler thinks he is being. Emily and Nolan almost let such foolery slip past them but Nolan finally got ahold of and read the letter “written by Lydis” exposing Victoria and Conrad. Cue Emily’s Japanese mentor. Victoria has been left feeling more alone than ever in a very long time while Emily, having lost an ally still has someone to turn to in her mentor. And he is more responsible than we know for pushing Emily down the path of revenge. His advice to her? “Remember, inside the viper’s nest, you must be a Viper too.”
When it comes to romance… Charlotte and Victoria are still at odds but Charlotte is a teenager… she will find a way to get to her man. Victoria could give Declan all the money in the world, these two love birds will still find a way to fly together. In fact, finding a way together with that cash is perhaps the smartest thing this couple has done so far. Way to trick the magician. More of where that came from please!
There is so much going on in each episode of Revenge, it’s almost necessary to have a second viewing of each episode before the next. The dialogue is so sharp and twists so astounding, you’ll want another screening to get as much Revenge as you can soak your teeth into. From the displaced identities to Emily’s background before returning home, Victoria’s marriage and parenting troubles, etc… there is so much to enjoy here. Ashkey possibly helping Victoria get to know Emily better is a very scary thought. Hopefully that’s not where the writers are taking us. We’ve seen Ashley look out for Emily before, perhaps this is her way of doing that once more. Only time will tell. It’s moments like these on top of all that is already going on that really make this drama stand out among the rest. There is never a dull moment, never a lack of surprises. So be sure to tune in wo weeks from now for more shocking revelations.
Favorite Moment: Jack introduced his supposed long lost friend, Amanda to Emily Thorne. Emily has a lot of cleaning up ahead of her after this stunt. Amanda has no idea the lengths that Emily Thorne will go to take back what is hers.
