We’ve seen some wild story lines happen in the past on WWE Wrestling, but nobody would have guessed the bizarre and utterly outlandish turn of events that happened at the end of 2011′s SummerSlam main event.
CM Punk and John Cena went head-to-head to be crowned WWE Undisputed Champion. After a great match, CM Punk claimed victory – well, sort of. Cena had his foot up on the bottom rope. Yet, Triple H still gave him the three count. It’s happened in the past when a referee “accidentally” misses the leg up on the rope. Usually, there’s some dastardly intentions behind it. But, throughout the match, Triple H seemed to be calling it more in favor of CM Punk. In this case, we may never know.
Why?
Because the next shocker was the return of Kevin Nash. After CM Punk paraded around his title, Nash showed up in the ring to close line him. Then Nash turned tale and ran through the crowd?
WTF?!
You would think this was just an arbitrary incident. But, no it wasn’t.
Why?
Right after Nash ran away, Alberto Del Rio waltzes into the arena (with referee in tow) to cash in his Raw Money in the Bank contract. In just under a few minutes, CM Punk went from WWE Undisputed Champion to former WWE Undisputed Champion as Del Rio attacked and then pinned the newly crowned champion.
This is what you’d call total bullsh*t. Not only did Del Rio cash in, but Nash is somehow involved in this wacky turn of events. Now, we just have to wonder if Triple H was involved in this elaborately orchestrated fiasco.
Phew. Where’s Vince McMahon when you need him? Oh yeah, he’s fired.
