HHH Gives Vince McMahon the Boot from WWE, New CEO Crowned

By : July 19, 2011

After building up the WWE into a worldwide household name, ending the careers of several wrestlers and becoming one of the most reviled personalities on TV, Vince McMahon has been given the pink slip from the WWE board of directors.

On last night’s RAW, McMahon decided to postpone a title match between Ray Mysterio and The Miz. Wearing an outlandish pink sports jacket and bearing his normal cocky smile, McMahon told wrestling fans that the title match would be pushed back a week. Instead of a title match, McMahon would grandstand for several minutes before hinting to fans that John Cena needed to be fired as part of one of many changes he would be initiating to revitalize the company. He also stated that no one man was bigger than the WWE.

Cena heard the news and immediately came to the ring. But instead of delivering a hateful tirade, Cena delivered an articulated five-minute speech that shot down McMahon’s character like Marcus Antonius shot down Caesar’s conspirators in Shakespeare’s famed play “Julius Caesar.” He belittled McMahon for ruining Shawn Michaels’ career and for the CEO’s mistreatment of both Michaels and Bret “The Hitman” Hart. The dispute between Michaels and Hitman shrouded the careers of the two wrestlers for nearly two decades, before ending in 2010 in a public show of peace on the January 4, 2010 episode of RAW. Cena also said that he would continue wrestling at a network that respected him “brother”, hinting that he would join Hulk Hogan on TNA Wresting.

However, the news was disrupted when McMahon’s son-in-law Triple H showed up on the scene to deliver some very startling news. According to HHH, the board of directors had voted to remove McMahon from power effective immediately. A very misty-eyed McMahon was barely able to hold it together as Triple H told him that he would take over the duties from his father-in-law. HHH also said I love you dad.

It was one of the more emotional scenes on WWE, but it was not without a cheery chant from the WWE fans who promptly cheered “Na na na na, hey, hey, good bye.”

Was this merely “kayfabe” or did WWE break “kayfabe” because of McMahon’s handling of WWE in the past six months, and truthfully throughout his career – primarily beginning in the 90s when he turned into the evil-CEO character? The tears seemed real and based on WWE’s 31% drop in the stock market, it may be a welcome decision for investors looking to regain lost equity. McMahon’s words to Cena seemed to be a self-fulfilling prophecy on himself. Triple H reiterated McMahon’s words that no one man is bigger than the WWE, including McMahon. So we can only assume that he knew he’d get the boot before hand. However, as a contracted wrestler too, the WWE probably threw it into the story for maximum effect.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose. John Cena Workout

Vince is one more smart man . If he was planning on retireing, to come up with this is outstanding . It would take some planning to pull this off and he is the MAN .
Lots did not like him but I do and good luck to him

Vince McMahon is still listed as the CEO for the WWE.
    See http://corporate.wwe.com/governance/board.jsp

Funny thing is, I did a report on their management styles for my school last week, and my recommendations were to do something about Sin Cara, because he does not match the new slogan of “Bigger. Badder. Better.”, and that Paul Levesque (Triple H) who is the one who recruited him, needed a different position, because he was the one who brought Sin Cara to the WWE.

Yesterday, Sin Cara was suspended for breaking some company policies, and Triple H got him a new position. I do not think Vince McMahon is “fired” but the WWE fans will see a LOT less of him, and Paul now has a more “public” kind of job.

Something else to note is that since this has happened, the plummeting WWE stock prices have started to rise again. I am glad to see that the WWE might actually be listening to what college students are saying.

is vince mcmahon still the owner of the wwe ?

Glad to see that John Cena stayed and Vince is gone.  I was getting to the point where I was not going to watch WWE anymore.  The same people were wrestling each other every week and it was getting boring.  Glad to see that HHH will be calling the shots.  Go John!!!  Glad you will be around.
Sorry that Shawn and Bret had to take trash from McMahnon.

“”Kayfabe” is a Carny term thought to have originated from the Pig Latin for “be fake” (from TVtropes.org)

i think that the westling will lose a much more of viewers because mr mcmahon was the funny man.
Who can walk like him?. Please bring him back.

Hello EVERYONE!!!! I LOVE wrestling and the WWE and have been a fan since I was around 8. I will be 24 2mrw. I am telling you this to add credibility to my comment. Vince McMahon has been wanting to step down from his current position (both on screen & off screen) for quite some time. He is ready to retire somewhat and have a much more relaxed schedule and lifestyle. It is time for Vince to turn over the reigns and simply just enjoy the fruits of his labor. Last night on RAW was “kayfabe”. Believe me Vince is stepping down and Trips is stepping up. On screen it will appear that HHH is the CEO or he is in charge. However behind the scenes and when it comes to corporate stuff, HHH is working his way up, but he does not have complete control. Last night was a work and it was a way for Vince to FINALLY retire and thats why he was so emotional, because he knew that was prob one of his last RAWS and one of the last things he would do on the creative side for the WWE. Vince put prowrestling on the map and now guys he helped create like HHH, Taker, Micheals etc will have some more corporate  & backstage roles as time progresses.

I am not at all happy by this decision, i mean HHH not wrestling any more rather running WWE, secondly vince was with WWE for over 20 years and seeing him gone forever is heart touching and above all watching real tears comming out that old man’s eyes is extremely emotional; i almost cried

nah its not fake. i read some shit about this. triple h was always suppose to be the “Big Guy” in the wwe, which means, he was going to be the chairman or CEO of wwe. not because he married vince’s daughter, cause he is a smart guy and he produce alot of good storylines. btw, HE MADE THE CM PUNK STORYLINE! just had to put it out there, but triple h will be taking over and its good, cause Mr.Mcmahon cant really do much now that he is in his near late 60s. but i thank him for all the good times.

you are an idiot.  The only people who like @JohnCena are children and those on the short bus.  Cena is way too overplayed.

  • Treypickett42

If McMahon would have fired John Cena. I belive that nobody would have ever showin up.

  • lorretta bland

is really sorry to see Mr Mcmahon go but i think that triple h will do a good job and am also happy hat john cena is staying with the wwe

fake? is any other scene on tv fake or just a way for people to bash wrestling

There might be some truth to it, but honestly, a CEO stepping down from a major corporation would’ve made the business wires too. A quick Google search found nothing except your normal wrestling blogs/websites. I honestly think that Vince will be stepping down to a lower capacity, possibly handling all the senior decisions on approving angles, etc. With Triple H taking a more backstage role in procuring new talent and creating new storylines, it wasn’t a suprise that he named himself as the one taking over. Overall, I still think it’s fake.

Thank God that John Cena is still in WWE. I dont want him to be in TNA. He might change to be a bad guy like jeff hardy in TNA.
