Just when I thought I was out… they pull me back in!
Rockstar is making good on its promise to deliver DLC for L.A. Noire this summer by launching new content today and announcing its plans to pepper the next few months with some new downloadable cases and suits for Cole Phelps.
The madness starts today on both XBox Live and Playstation Network: you can roll up your sleeves and dig in on two new cases, collectibles and challenges to expand on the world we saw in the retail game.
While DLC is typically a mixed bag when it comes to price versus value, the planned expandable content appears to be worth fasting from Starbucks for two days thanks to the L.A. Noire Rockstar Pass, which allows gamers to pre-order a pass that will enable them to download all of the DLC at a fixed price ($10 for PSN and / 800 Microsoft Points on XBL). That represents a 50 percent discount on buying the content separately. Most gamers could care less about what Phelps is wearing (especially in Noire, which is more story and less sandbox), but having four additional cases spring up seems like a great deal.
Starting today, two cases are available (as well as the Rockstar pass) and two more cases will be coming in the summer.
