While the Royals are on their honeymoon, quite a few others in the spotlight have tied the knot, gotten married, welcomed babies into the world, and lots more! There have been plenty of highs and lows this week, starting with the good…
Kings of Leon lead singer, Caleb Followill wed Victoria’s Secret model, Lily Aldridge in Montecito, California on Thursday. Jenna Fischer (The Office) and her husband Lee Kirk are expecting their first child. Perhaps she’ll hide around odd places in the office like Angela Kinsey did when she was expecting? Newlyweds, Mike Myers and his wife, Kelly Tisdale are expecting their first child quite soon…as she is reportedly already in her second trimester.
Alicia Silverstone announced on May 9th that she and her husband, Christopher Jarecki welcomed their first child on Thursday, May 5, 2011. They named their son Bear Blu Jarecki. Also welcoming a baby boy, named Finn was Autumn Reeser (No Ordinary Family) and her husband, Jesse Warre on Tuesday, May 10th. This is their first child. Jillian Michaels (The Biggest Loser) in the process of being approved to adopt a baby from the Congo.
Hayden Panettiere and heavyweight boxing champion, Wladmir Klitschko have called it quits after two years of dating. Leonardo DiCaprio and his supermodel girlfriend also revealed the end of their relationship this week. But the hardest celebrity break up of the week to accept goes to Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver who have separated after 25 years of marriage.
As for one partner, as in dancing partner…Dancing With the Stars professional dancer, Kym Johnson was taken to the hospital after a fall during rehearsals that injured her neck. She is recovering well though there is no word on how this will affect Monday night’s performance. One performance has come to an end though for Matthew Perry. ABC announced the cancellation of Mr. Sunshine the same day it was announced that Perry would be heading back to rehab for the third time. Whitney Houston is also going back to rehab for her own substance abuse battle. Mary Tyler Moore, 73 is recovering from surgery that involved removing a tumor in her brain. She is also recovering well. It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Plus size model and actress, Mia Amber Davis (Road Trip). She died suddenly on Tuesday after a blood clot accumulated after knee surgery.
In brighter news, Princess Bea of York is putting her hideous hat from the Royal Wedding up for auction on Ebay with the proceeds going to UNICEF. 18-year-old, Isabella Cruise is now an apprentice at stepmom, Katie Holmes‘s fashion label, Holmes & Yang. In a shocking move, Charlie Sheen congratulated Ashton Kutcher via Twitter regarding Kutcher’s new gig on Two And A Half Men. Maybe Sheen thinks that he has a music career after his recent collaboration on the track titled, “Winning” with Snoop Dogg. Someone else is also taking on a new venture, though it is not nearly as exciting or even the least bit honorable. Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is especially not going to be thrilled about this news. His father, Frank is writing a tell all book about his son, who apparantley did not help him in his times of need. Notice though, it’s a tell all book about Mike, not Frank. As someone who doesn’t regularly watch Jersey Shore, it’s easy to be on Mike’s side for this one. When your parent decides to write a tell all book about you without your permission, the child definitely has their reasons for being estranged.
Frank is not the only one causing an upset this week. After selling her Skinnygirl cocktail brand for $120 million, Bethenny Frankel was sued by her ex-manger for his portion of the deal, plus damages. Frankel stated in a press release, “This is simply someone with his hand out, who did nothing to earn it, and I am not going to be bullied.”
One person who admittedly cannot keep up with her finances is Marlee Matlin. She recently revealed that she owes $50,000 to the IRS. Anna Kournikova has put her Miami Beach mansion on the market for $9.4 million…although it is unclear if she has made this decision to spend more or less on her new digs. Katy Perry & husband, Russell Brand also put up their LA home for $3.3 million. Also leaving comfortable ground is Meredith Vieira, who has officially announced her June exit from The Today Show this week.
It seems this has been a week of new ventures for some and returning to what’s best for others.
