in Movie Trailers, Priest

With Thor, Green Lantern and Captain America all making their pilgrimage to the big screen this summer, there’s less chatter about another forthcoming comic book adaptation, Priest, directed by Scott Stewart starring Paul Bettany. This latest trailer (below) is largely an action scene from the movie, with Bettany’s warrior priest and sidekick Cam Gigandet taking on some nasty vampires. The jury is still out on whether this will play like a big-budget Legion, the previous Stewart-Bettany collaboration that was not met well by moviegoers. From the trailers we’ve seen, it looks like it could be an average dystopian action flick, with the 3D presentation to woo potential moviegoers. And with it releasing a week after Thor, it has a solid shot of ruling the box office (at least for one weekend). Besides, anything with Maggie Q should be met with open arms.

Priest releases in 3D on May 13, 2011. It stars Paul Bettany, Cam Gigandet, Maggie Q, Lily Collins and Karl Urban.
