Exclusive Interview: ‘Hanna’ Director Joe Wright on Creating a Dark Fairy Tale

By : April 8, 2011

During WonderCon last weekend, we caught up with director Joe Wright (Atonement, Pride and Prejudice), who was on-hand to talk about his latest film Hanna, which is in theaters today.

He talked about how Hanna isn’t your typical female action heroine that uses sex appeal as a power, but empowers through her innate strength and abilities. He also mentions how Hanna has elements of a dark fairy tale and what is was like directing a faceoff of Saoirse Ronan and Cate Blanchett and why the Chemical Brothers score is the best he’s ever heard.

Hanna opens today in theaters nationwide.
