‘Smallville’ Season 10 Episode 17 Preview: Kent (April 15th Return)

in Smallville

Well, we’re currently in the last hiatus of Smallville’s run. Things got decidedly more dark last Friday with Scion and it looks as if they’ll stay in that vein for the April 15th return episode, Kent.

Check out the preview teaser that ran after Scion, which can be described as nothing short of morbid. With Oliver and Chloe gone, the Superboy storyline wrapped up, the focus appears to return back to Clark. With the alternate universe thread still in play, it’s hard to determine just what is going on in this trailer. But there are a few certainties:

  • Gold Kryptonite will come into play. We first heard of this in Luthor, when alternate-universe Clark shows off a scar on his wrist.
  • Jonathan Kent will returns to the fray, though this is obviously an alternate-universe version of him. He has a nugget of Green Kryptonite and is beating Clark down like he’s James Caan in Misery.
  • Clark will come close to kissing Tess.
  • Clark attends someone’s funeral

Given what we see here, one can only surmise that Clark will again cross over to the alternate universe, only to get himself into a whole world of trouble. But who that funeral is for is a big question mark. The way I see it, there are three possibilities. The first is Jonathan Kent in the alternate universe. Pa Kent’s return and apparent evil ways sounds like he’ll need to be put out of his misery rather quickly. Another possibility is alternate-Lionel. We all lamented when the real Lionel fell to his death in Season 7, though I won’t be as upset this time around. I have a sneaking suspicion that this alternate-universe Lionel thread isn’t going anyway and the sooner he’s offed, the sooner we see Clark fly. Lastly, could this funeral be for Tess Mercer? One could follow the logic that Tess doesn’t appear in the comics, so she potentially has a date with a pine box. Of course, the show has been known to chart its own path, so we can only conjecture at this point.

Just give weeks until we all find out.

Watching Clark Luthor and Tess make out and Lionel viciously beating up Clark Kent was skanky enough the first time round, why in the world would I want to watch a repeat performance? Except this time with Pa Kent beating up Clark. I’ll just skip to to next episode, Booster, thanks all the same.

Im really frustrated between the duff episodes and the fact we all knew from the start that Darkseid was next up for the man in training. Its either chloe, clone lex,or tess that end up six feet under but i really hope after 10 years that smallville ends on a high.If warner use Tom Welling in the Superman remake in a few years that would be wise.personally,im more excited about the Green Lantern film.Go Ryan Reynolds!!!
