2011 will give Smallville fans 11 more episodes to bask in Clark Kent’s (Tom Welling) rise to Superman fame. This past week in Smallville Season 10 Episode 10, “Luthor,” John Glover guest starred as Lionel Luthor to show viewers what Clark’s life would be like if he were raised a Luthor. Now Lionel’s back for at least one episode in 2011. [Possible Spoilers] John Glover will be appearing in Smallville Season 10 Episode 13 alongside Allison Mack (as Chloe Sullivan) and Annette O’Toole (as Martha Kent).
Chloe fans will definitely be delighted to hear that Mack will have a few more episodes to kick off 2011. The actor had recently debuted in a web series on Syfy.com called Riese. Mack will also be appearing in Smallville Season 10 Episode 12, “Collateral,” alongside Phil Morris (as Martian Manhunter), Alaina Huffman (as Black Canary) and O’Toole. Mack is rumored to star in at least one more episode before the Smallville series finale (purportedly episode 20). O’Toole is also rumored to be appearing in the 2-part series finale.
At the end of “Luthor,” Lionel states that he has to see how the story ends. So there is also a chance that Glover will be appearing in the Smallville series finale with O’Toole. Throughout the first six seasons of Smallville, Lionel’s love for Martha always surrounded the relationship between the Kents and the Luthors. Although the current Lionel is from a parallel universe, where he is pure evil, the newly introduced Lionel (from Smallville Earth 2) may find redemption through Martha Kent.
No word yet on Serinda Swan, who played Black Canary, or Kyle Gallner, who played Bart Allen (Impulse). Swan is one of the featured Sirens in Tron: Legacy.
So it looks like we’ll be in store for one super-sendoff of guest appearances in 2011 as Smallville comes to a close.
