in Interviews, Julie Benz, No Ordinary Family, San Diego Comic Con 2010 (SDCC)

Today at Comic-Con, we got the chance to talk superpowers with Julie Benz, out to promote her brand new show, No Ordinary Family. She gives us the lowdown on just what the new show is and some tidbits on her new character, Stephanie Powell.

No Ordinary Family is an upcoming drama from ABC that will follow a family that discovers they have superpowers. Benz stars opposite Michael Chiklis (The Shield) and will have the power of super speed. This looks like it can be a really fun show – it’s somewhat of a mix between The Incredibles, The Fantastic Four, with a little touch of Modern Family thrown in for good measure. And yes, they have superpowers, but it’s nothing like Heroes, which crashed in its second season as the plots (and time travel) got more convoluted.

We also asked her to share some thoughts on Dexter’s fifth season, which is where you can also see her this fall. Benz will be back as Rita for the first episode (view the Dexter Season 5 trailer here). And without further ado, here’s our talk with Julie.
