The Heroic Age may be here, but nothing can save Marvel from slipping on this week’s Comic Pull List. The mega publishing label has a few releases coming out this week (Astonishing Spider-Man/Wolverine #1, Uncanny X-Men #524), which may leave you unimpressed at the comic shop. DC Comics heads into May with several offerings including Brightest Day #1 and the start of Superman: War of the Supermen series.

Both Wildstorm and Vertigo kick off May strong with several titles worth checking out. House of Mystery #25 drops, featuring 5 writers – 1 comic. The Authority and Sparta from Wildstorm may both surprise you, but you’ll need to catch up in the back issue section of your comic store. Over at IDW Publishing, Cobra Commander is alive and kicking with his G.I. Joe Cobra II debut.

sweettoothThe untold story of the week goes to Sweet Tooth #9 from Vertigo. Sweet Tooth is a delicious nightmare that demands to be read. And, if you haven’t started then you better get on it ASAP. As much as we’d like to have Brightest Day #1 share the top spot on this week’s Comic Pull List, we know you’re going to pick that one up. So for the week of May 5, 2010, the BuzzFocus Must Read title goes to Sweet Tooth #9. Pick it up. You won’t regret it. And, pick up the past issues while you’re at it.
