Hell hath no fury like a Nurse Jackie scorned. It didn’t take much to drive Jackie Peyton (Edie Falco) back into the pill-distributing arms of ex-All Saints pharmacist and Queens stalker, Eddie Walzer (Paul Schulze). After Kevin (Dominic Fumusa) takes the kids to see Alice in Wonderland with Kaitlyn’s mom, aka Kevin’s ex-girlfriend, Jackie decides it’s time she and Kevin had a little time-out. Typically, that would mean sending the husband to couch, but instead Jackie decides her place is on the living room sofa.
Why? Could it be a guilty conscience?
Sexual woes are only the tip of Jackie’s problematic iceberg. Gloria Akalitus (Anna Deavere Smith) has stationed a security guard by the Pill-O-Matic. Without a steady supply of pills and a husband who may or may not have eyes for another woman, Jackie decides it’s time to call off her sexual sanctions with Eddie. Nurse Jackie Episode 5, “Caregiver,” ended with Jackie and Eddie meeting up to see Alice in Wonderland.
Is it love of Eddie that brought Jackie back or love of the pills? You have to admit that going back to any man who has stalked out your family Fatal Attraction style is either the first step towards a mental breakdown or a desperate cry for detox.
