Showtime has just announced that Carla Gugino will be appearing in Californication Season 4. Gugino, who starred in the Watchmen as Sally Jupiter/Silk Spectre, is no stranger to shows about sex in the fast lane. She appeared as Vincent Chase’s (Adrian Grenier) sexy agent and Ari Gold’s (Jeremy Piven) brief nemesis in Entourage season 3.
Needless to say, Gugino will attract Hank Moody’s (David Duchovny) wandering eyes in Californication as Hank deals with his legal issues with Mia (Madeline Zima) and his recent fallout with Karen (Natascha McElhone). Gugino will play the role of Hank’s high-powered lawyer Abby when Californication returns. The role bears a stark similarity to her agent role on Entourage, but she is by no means Vince’s sloppy seconds and will be sure to add steam to the legal system when Cali returns this fall.
Official Press Release
LOS ANGELES, CA – (April 15, 2010) – Noted film and television star Carla Gugino (Watchmen) will suit up as a sexy defense attorney on the 4th season of the hit Showtime comedy Californication. Gugino will be a guest star in 10 of the series’ 12 episodes.
Californication stars David Duchovny in his Golden Globe-winning role as hedonistic novelist Hank Moody who struggles to raise his teenage daughter (Madeleine Martin), while still carrying a torch for his ex-girlfriend Karen (Natascha McElhone). This season, Hank will have to deal with the fall-out from his one-night-stand with then-underage pseudo step-daughter Mia (Madeline Zima) going public. His epic legal troubles force him to enlist the aid of hot, high-powered lawyer Abby (Gugino) to keep him out of the big house but can he keep his hands off her?
Fan and critic favorite Gugino has starred in a wide range of films, including the megahit Spy Kids trilogy; the blockbuster Night at the Museum; as ‘Sally Jupiter’ in Watchmen; and, most recently, opposite the likes of Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino in Righteous Kill. She earned a SAG nomination for her work opposite Russell Crowe in American Gangster. Her television credits include lead roles in the critically acclaimed series Karen Sisco and Threshold; and memorable guest turns in Spin City; Chicago Hope, and Entourage. Her theater credits include “After the Fall,” opposite Peter Krause; and Tennessee Williams’s “Suddenly Last Summer,” opposite Blythe Danner.
