Charlie Runkle… what are you doing my friend? After last weeks daring rescue of estranged wife, Marcy, from the clutches of Rick Springfield, I continue to wonder what will the future hold for everyone’s favorite baldheaded agent.
Now that Rick Springfield is out of the picture (he’s probably still searching for more coke in the crevices of his trailer) Charlie’s job may be on the line. I’d definitely be sad to see him leave Sue Collini’s agency; I just couldn’t bear to see Kathleen Turner go. Tom Kapinos must be having a ball developing separation anxiety disorders in the hearts of fans. We lost Lew Ashby at the end of season 2. And, if Charlie gets fired, that’s bye bye Collini. Maybe, they writers can do something creative to keep her around. Because Kathleen just makes this season ‘oh so good.’
On the home front, Charlie may have saved Marcy from Rick’s coke-filled clutches, but that doesn’t mean he has saved his marriage. Californication is all about relationship drama, and following their love quarrels has been a blast. Well, maybe not for Marcy.
If you don’t believe me, just check out this clip to see how Marcy feels about sex. Damn you, Runkle.
In Californication Season 3 Episode 10, “Dogtown,” Hank takes Charlie out on the town to drown his sorrows after Sue Collini (Kathleen Turner) fires him for causing client Rick Springfield to leave the agency. Meanwhile, Karen, still miffed by Hank’s dalliance with Felicia (Embeth Davidtz), organizes a girls’ night out with Becca and Marcy. Drunk and up to no good, Hank and Charlie have a near-death experience when they confront a couple of thieving hoodlums in a convenience store. The night ends with Charlie realizing he made a questionable body art decision and Hank having the breakfast of his life with the woman he loves.

I hope Kathleen stays!
