From Lovers to Exes, BFFs to Archenemies, Boyfriends to Brothers only one thing is constant on “Gossip Girl”: that relationships, just like time, must and always do change.
On November 1, sweeps month begins. Which means the networks and TV creative staffs will be pulling out all the stops to keep their shows off the cancellation block. If you’re show has seen a recent ratings slip, then anything goes: unforeseen romances, startling revelations, vomit inducing teen pregnancies (let’s face it teen pregnancies suck teen drama, been there, totally done that), friendship failures, and cast member deaths.
The rumor mill has been brewing gloom-and-doom for Gossip Girl’s third season. And, with sweeps month upon us, November 2nd may feature some startling changes to the Gossip Girl family.
So far, Dan and Olivia have been able to work through their Celeb-Ordinary-Guy relationship. But, for how long can that last. Pregnancy would be cliché, but merited with their newfound love. Personally, I’d prefer a full-blown scandal, with Dan causing Olivia her career. Only, a week ago Chuck and Blair were suffering relationship woes. Fortunately, they got past it. Unfortunately, for Serena and Blair, their relationship has become the new focal point of drama. We’ve seen them at war before in Season 2, when Serena took over the mean girl reign just before dashing Blair’s Ivy dream. If the writers are looking to explore this as their main whirlwind for Sweeps month, something drastic has to happen. After all, this isn’t high school.
Does anyone really care about Jenny Humphrey and her younger brother, Eric? This pseudo-mean girl story needs a severe adrenaline rush to make me interested. I’d much rather see more Blair-Chuck vs. the World. What we definitely don’t need is a repeat of any past stories, which, strangely, Episode 8, “The Grandfather: Part II,” hints at. “The Grandfather” (now known as “The Grandfather: Part I”) was Season 2 Episode 19.
At the very least, “Gossip Girl” has made it into the sweeps lineup, which is a good sign when compared against “Dollhouse” rumors on Fox. Recently, EW.com suggested that Fox would table “Dollhouse” for sweeps month.
About Gossip Girl Season 3 Episode 8, “The Grandfather: Part II” :
Olivia (guest star Hilary Duff) says something she regrets during her appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s (Fallon playing himself) talkshow and tries to keep Dan (Penn Badgley) from finding out. With election day around the corner, Nate (Chace Crawford) suspects his grandfather (guest star James Naughton) will stop at nothing to get Trip (guest star Aaron Tveit) elected to congress. In the midst of another feud with Serena (Blake Lively), Blair (Leighton Meester) befriends a new “it” girl and takes her to an election night party at Chuck’s (Ed Westwick) hotel, hoping to make Serena jealous. Taylor Momsen, Jessica Szohr, Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle also star. Mark Piznarski directed the episode written by Lenn Rosenfeld.

I think Olivia said that she loves Dan in the show - but its just a guess … xD
I hope Hilary is not pregnant. I saw that on a few sites. I think it would be terrible because Hilary would want an abortion and Dan would want to keep the child.
It ends up being a flashback to the Lily and Rufus story. Let’s not see that.
