Recently, we had the pleasure of speaking with Norman Reedus, star of “Boondock Saints” and the upcoming “Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day.” We discussed his upcoming feature, the differences between Boondock and “Pandorum” set life, and Norman’s other projects and artistic endeavors.

Norman may be the gun-toting Saint on camera, but in person he’s the strong silent type. As you watch the interview, you’ll see that his real life persona is even more captivating and genuine than his characters on screen. Reedus also gives a quick demonstration of what life would be like as his dream superhero.

When it comes to “The Boondock Saints,” Reedus states, “I can do six of these.” The actor has built up a strong bond with his cast in the 10 years since the original Boondock was released. “You come on Boondock and your back with your family making a movie.”

Norman Reedus reprises his role as Murphy MacManus in “Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day,” coming to theaters October 30, 2009. You can learn more about his film Production Company, BigBaldHead, and photography work at www.bigbaldhead.com.

    Bill:
You heard that right my friend. Indeed, you did. I was there. I believe that may well be one of the greatest metaphors ever coined by an actor, artist or director.

“She has jumbo elephant balls.” Did I hear that right?

Anyways, awesome interview Bags. As the comments above have noted, great job at being a good interviewer, connecting and letting him talk. Nice job!

I agree with everyone here. This was one of those interviews where I was SO grateful that the interviewer gave Norman Reedus the freedom to really go off on a tangent if he felt like it or talk about anything he wanted. The other interviews I’ve seen have been pretty structured and I notice that Norman does ok but seems to get very quiet and slightly withdraws. In some cases, I would hear more from the reporter or other people in the interview rather than Norman. (I don’t blame him…I’m the same way in a crowd atmosphere) But, clearly, when you ask good questions and you have the time to give, the interview works perfectly. I really enjoyed this. Thank you for having a wonderful interview with one of the most talented, natural actors I’ve seen in a very long time.

And Norman…if you read this…no, man. You were great :) You were yourself which is one of the reasons I enjoy seeing your films and reading/hearing what you have to say. You always come off as the guy next door, the person that would help you out if you needed it, the best friend, the guy you want to hang with and be stupid around but you know he wouldn’t judge you. I could be wrong…but this is what I get from you. In one interview, you mentioned the differences between “actors” and “Actors”…I’m glad someone else thinks that way. You’re like Gary Oldman…you can be anything, any character..you blend in and become that person. Not many actors can do that. This is one of the many reasons I’d love to see you in more films. But keep up the art too! As an artist and writer, I understand what you mean about being judged. But I can tell you, that you did an amazing job, I can’t wait to see Boondock Saints II and I’d love to see more of your artwork and films!

Big hug to ya and bravo to Bags and BuzzFocus! You guys rock :)

I completely agree that Norman is both captivating and genuine. When you see most Hollywood interviews, the actor almost feels like a caricature. Norman comes off like a human being that you can’t help but relate to.

I know in Hollywood they wait for an actor to do smaller roles before realizing they can be a leading man. I truly hope that just seeing him in this interview Hollywood will script something with Norman as the lead (of course a good script and not just some Vin Diesel story-less flick).

    Can’t wait for Boondock II!

Since the news busted out that they made a sequel to The Boondock Saints, I seem to be all over the place watching and reading interviews from the cast and crew. Alrighty then, Norman Reedus. This is the first video interview I have come across and I give BuzzFocus a high-five for doing this. On Twitter, he asks if ‘he sounds like a geek, be honest.’ Too funny. So here I am. No, not at all. Norman.

Ok, now my take on it overall. Although there are similar questions compared to many other interviews. I felt the questions here gave him more freedom. Take the story of how he got into acting. He and Sean have been asked that a million times. And 99% of the time it is, “I followed a girl, she bailed.” I always got this feeling that he/they would have elaborated but the interviewer was already moving along. Body Language, looking at their notes, signals that trigger our natural sixth sense; ‘Ok,thanks moving along now!’

You gave him a stage. A Short question, and then in my mind’s eye I can see the ‘Ok Go!’ look. This is the first time I have heard about the pitbull story and his drunk, pissed off at the world antics that became a catalyst which opened the door to his career. That added another layer, a fresh insight into Reedus the person, not just ‘Reedus McMannus.’ Or Norman Reedus, star of…

Also, excellent! An opportunity for him to talk about the film projects he wants to complete. ‘A White Slave in Harlem,’ in this case. I have 3 Films, and I want to see more films from him.

I write and character developement is key, for me. This interview is just like rounding out a character. Your interview style draws people in and makes them feel a part of his story. Mankind wants to be invited in and this video did just that. All in all? In my POV, all the fans of the movie or Norman, who come to watch these interviews, are going to walk away smiling. It lets us pull up a chair and chill out with the person. A total contrast to some interviews that give me that, ‘keep them at arm’s length, this is an actor,’ feeling.

Yep, I know I could have said, ‘This was awesome! I cannot wait to see the film!’ But that is just not me. Thanks for the free reign you gave me, commment wise!

Blessings Norman and Bags! BuzzFocus? You got a spot in my bookmarked pages. My ‘gold star,’ of the day award!
