The “Weeds” population of the world may have to wait another year for the return of Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker), but in meantime they can live out their “Weeds” fantasy in a small lounge in New York’s Tribeca Summit Showtime House.
AS part of the Metropolitan Home and Showtime collaboration, designer Paul Latham has created a lounge that only true fan of the green herb can fully enjoy. Latham designed a two-room lounge, complete with an AstroTurf-carpeted bathroom floor and 19th century clay pipes, he snagged off of Ebay.
Latham states that the concept for the “Weeds” lounge came from Bosch’s “Garden of Earthly Delights,” intertwining good and evil – modern and new. From that quote alone, we can see that he’s done his research on the Botwin family. Nancy may be leading her family on a precipitous downward spiral of murder and drug dealing, but she’s done it all out of love.
Oh, and if you thought the “Weeds” room would be PG-13, think again. Latham couldn’t resist adding a few glass bongs that would make Walter H. White (Bryan Cranston of AMC’s Breaking Bad) jealous.
