Recently, BuzzFocus spoke with Troy Dunn, star of the WeTV hit series “The Locator.”
Anyone who watches “The Locator” knows the story of Troy’s first Locator job: finding his mother’s estranged-birth mother, who gave her up for adoption. In this interview, Troy elaborates on the motivations he had for getting into this business. Troy also discusses the darker side to being “The Locator.” What we discovered was a man, who not only performs a job, but also is genuinely attached to each and every case.
Check out the interview below to get a sense of the man who is “The Locator.”
When we wrapped the interview, Troy also joked around about creating a “Locator” video game. So, if there are any video game publishers out there reading this, now is your chance to get on the phone and give a call to WeTV.
You can catch “The Locator” Sunday nights at 9PM ET/PT on WeTV.

I am Katie Dunn, most often known as “Troy’s Mom” and I’ll never get tired of that! This was such a great interview and I am NOT trying to get in the last word (do you hear a ‘but’ coming up ) BUT, I thought you might be interested to know that since Troy did this interview, we have been contacted by two families whose stories and searches were shared in Season One. In each case, the person searching and whom we were able to reunite with their missing loved one, has since died. So first of all, Troy and I are so humbled that they invited and trusted us to come into such a person part of their lives in the first place and secondly, we are so grateful that we were able to fulfill a deep pain and longing they had before they died.
They were able to, as Troy says, “Find their missing pieces AND their missing peace.”
so, if there is a message it is: Don’t wait. If you have a missing loved one, become proactive in your search for them because, you just never know what ‘tomorrow’ may bring.
Much joy and many hearthugs from Troy’s Mom to each of you.
Katie Dunn
