If you’re like the rest of the “Dexter” loving world, who didn’t already watch the premiere leaked over the internet last month, you are anxiously awaiting the return of “Dexter” Season 4.

Recently, Showtime and Metropolitan Home opened the doors of their second Showtime House – a living walk through of the network’s best television programs.

Marie Aiello was tasked with creating the Dexter space. Not only did Aiello design an incredible room, she also stepped inside the mind of Dexter Morgan and his Dark Passenger. Unlike last year’s Dexter room in Gramercy Park, Aiello has decided to avoid the overt use of the color red and blood spatter in her design. Instead, she has created a room that mimics the inner conflict within Dexter Morgan. By day, the Dexter Space looks like a beautiful living space, complete with rooftop deck. At night, the same space transforms into a reflection of Dexter’s Dark Passenger.

As you step inside the space, you’ll feel uncomfortable as a watching eye watches you observe the inner Dexter. Aiello has incorporated fingerprint art on the walls to portray Dexter’s daytime forensics life, as well as a wall mural of a body wrapped in a plastic bag. Even the baby cradle is creepy, harboring a teddy bear with a severed head wrapped in plastic. The only use of red belongs to the butcher knives on the kitchen counter top. At night, the words, “Here I am, paradox personified… taking life, creating life” hovers over the living quarters. There’s no getting over it, Aiello may have a Dark Passenger that would make Dexter proud.

You can walk inside the Dexter space at the Tribeca Summit Loft Condominiums at 415 Greenwich Street in New York City. Click here for more pictures of the Dexter space.

    Wow!
Marie is quite a talented interior designer, easy going in front of the camera, impeccable dress style, and of course very easy on the eyes. This combination of forward thinking design tailored exactly to the client’s personality is what everyone is looking for, from the first time apartment dweller to the new home owner in the Hampton’s. I love the video, just wish the videographer added some backlight control or adjusted gain/exposure to the darkened room so we could see more clearly all the great Marie design details.
    Great job Marie!!!
