In his roles as “Bodhi,” or “Sam Wheat” or “Johnny Castle,” Patrick Swayze always captivated audiences with his good looks and great acting skills. It deeply saddens us to find out that the famed actor lost his battle with pancreatic cancer today and passed away at the young age of 57.
Swayze had been in Hollywood for almost a decade when Dirty Dancing unexpectedly made him a megastar and household name. Several years later, he had his biggest hit starring in the movie Ghost with Demi Moore and Whoopie Goldberg. But his career spanned many movies and many fans will always remember him for his roles in The Outsiders, Point Break, Road House and Red Dawn.
He recently starred in the gritty A&E drama “The Beast,” playing FBI agent Charles Barker. Swayze had already filmed the pilot when being diagnosed with the deadly Stage IV pancreatic cancer. He went public with his battle, but kept to his commitment on the show, often undergoing grueling filming conditions to star in it.
Rest in peace Patrick. We’re all very thankful of the great legacy that you’ve left behind.
