Ahoy! We will get to see more of Captain Jack Sparrow and the rest of the Pirates of the Carribbean soon.

One of the biggest announcements out of Disney’s new D23 Expo is that Walt Disney Studios will be making a fourth installment of the largely successful Pirates movies. Johnny Depp was on hand at the convention to help announce this news and make sure fans knew that he has officially signed on for the sequel and will be reprising his role as Captain Sparrow.

The film is currently set to hit theaters in 2011 and will be title “Pirates of the Caribbean: At Stranger Tides.”

That’s a shame. As much as I liked the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie, they’ve gotten progressively (much) worse. Kind of like The Matrix trilogy, the second one was okay for its pure action, but the third installment was ridiculous and held little interest. Kind of wish Depp was spending his time on something else.
