According to The Hollywood Reporter, Columbia Pictures is in the beginning stages of planning a third installment in the Bad Boys franchise. The first two movies, of course starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, were big worldwide successes and were directed by Michael Bay and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.

The studio is tapping Peter Craig to write the screenplay. As the Reporter states, no one else is officially attached to the project, but all the big players have expressed interest in returning. The only question is if the movie will make financial sense. You can bet on a big budget if Bay and Bruckheimer are involved as well as the checks that will be written to both Smith and Lawrence.

Hopefully, this one goes through. Of course, the first two weren’t the greatest of films, but it would be good to see Smith and Lawrence on screen again.

You didn’t like Bad Boys I or II???? What’s your reasoning? I can see not liking the sequel. But, Bad Boys I was an excellent mix of humor and action.

I have the VHS, DVD and the Blu-ray.
