Can you say crescendo? Season 2 of True Blood is a little more than halfway over and it appears that the slow simmer from the first half is now reaching a violent boil.
Last Sunday showed just how connected all of the storylines have been thus far. Sookie is now in the clutches of the very people that Jason was attempting to join. Maryanne was officially referred to as a maenad and made it disturbingly obvious that she wants Sam’s head on a platter. Why is she so interested in him? As if she didn’t have enough people participating in her beyond wild orgies, she’s wants to kill Sam because she can’t control shapeshifters and he’s one that got away.
And last week’s episode wasn’t without its share of flashback magic. We got to see how Bill left his maker Lorena - the old “I’ll drive a stake in my heart if you don’t release me” trick, works every time. But Bill can’t use that one this time and Lorena isn’t going to let him just leave and go save his human lover, Sookie.
The big question is when does Tara find out just how crazy Maryanne is and will she be able to get away? And just how much of Eggs does Maryanne control? Is he really in love with Tara or was it all a ploy to suck her in?
Check out the preview of the action to come this Sunday. Will we finally get to see the showdown between the Light of Day Institute and the vampires?
