Unless you have an antipathy for entertainment or a personal vendetta against an hour’s worth of well-scripted/well-performed bliss, you probably have hopped on the “Dexter” bandwagon. The Showtime-rating killer is now in its fourth season and the fans at San Diego Comic Con couldn’t be happier.

Thousands flocked to the SDCC Ballroom 20 to get the latest on the upcoming season. Season 3 introduced Dexter’s bosom buddy, Miguel Prado (Jimmy Smits). Season 4 brings fans the brilliant stage and screen actor John Lithgow, who will play the Dark Defender’s new nemesis, Arthur Mitchell aka the Trinity Killer.

Currently, production has already filmed five episodes from the season. So, none of the actor’s know what to expect next. But, Lithgow does. Before signing Lithgow, Executive Producers John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Clyde Phillips and Melissa Rosenberg (Twilight) shared the entire season’s story arc with Lithgow to win him over. So, he’s got secrets not even the original cast is privy to.

“Dexter” returns for season 4 Sunday, September 27 to Showtime.

*Update: Showtime updated John Lithgow’s character’s name from Walter Simmons to Arthur Mitchell during production.
