Get ready to hear “Seacrest, Out” for at least another 3 years.
Ryan Seacrest just struck a deal to become one of the highest (probably the highest) paid reality television hosts. For $15 million smackaroos per year for the next three years, Seacrest will continue to host American Idol as the show continues its popularity contest and all out media extravaganza.
The raise more than triples his current salary, believed to be at less than $5 million per year. And while this seems like a ton of money to most (which it certainly is), rumor has it that Simon Cowell is negotiating to get more than $100 million per season to stay on the show.
Idol ratings have been down in recent seasons, but it’s still putting up the best numbers in the business.
