It’s been a great three episodes so far in the second season of HBO’s True Blood.

In episode 3, “Scratches,” Alan Ball continued to explore the supernatural, further diverting the focus from our fanged friends. Was I expecting a minotaur-like creature to come out of nowhere and attack Sookie? Heck no, but I sure am interested in seeing how this plays out and what’s the connection to Merlotte’s latest waitress, Daphne (who, like Sookie, was also sporting some deep gouges in her back).

Lafayette fans certainly had a lot to be happy about as all collectively breathed a sigh of relief when Sookie rescued him (and serious props to her for demanding his release). Meanwhile, Tara finally seems to be realizing that Maryanne, Eggs and all the freaky-deaky happenings going on at the mansion are way too weird to stick around for. The question is: can she leave without sending Maryanne into a frenzy? I highly doubt it.

We’ll have to wait two weeks to see what happens next (HBO usually skips airing new shows on the holiday weekend). Instead, you’ll be able to rewatch the first three episodes again this Sunday.

Take a look at what’s to come on July 12:  Jason’s in apparent trouble and Tara attempts to break away from Maryanne. Looks like another great episode.

Being a really big fan of the books, I was worried that I would not enjoy this season of the show, seeing as how it does not really follow the book at all. But, I am pleasantly surprised! It is like a whole different take on an already great story! I feel like I have no idea what is going to happen next, which is pretty entertaining! I know that I will be disapointed at some point, but right I am just looking forward to every new episode!

That episode was just weird in the last few minutes. Maryianne is obviously the beast in the woods. But now Sookie’s met some bell hop that can also read minds?

I think the Marianne wants Tara to get pregnant from that guy. Maybe to further her species and he’s just like her or something.

You’ve got to love that Dallas is the den of evil where Vampires roam freely. That’s a definite stab at Bush if you ask me.

I have a feeling the beast in the woods that attacked sookie has something to do with marryanne and egg. I am not sure she is a shapeshifter or not not,but she turned sam into a dog. My biggest curiosity is if werewolves will be brought into the show later, twice they have been mentioned, once when sam revealed to to sookie what he is,and when the old doctor that was healing sookie after she was gored by the bull man said that she had once cured a person bitten by a werewolf.
